COBRA IS to build 738 kilometers of transmission lines in Brazil, boosting electric supply in three states
Grupo Cobra will be responsible for the construction of one of the three lots tendered by ANEEL and awarded to Engie, which includes the construction of 738 kilometers of transmission lines that will help strengthen the electrical system in three Brazilian states: Minas Gerais, Paraná, and Santa Catarina.
COBRA IS, through its subsidiary Grupo Cobra, has been awarded a contract by Engie Brasil in the Auction No. 002/2024 of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), for the construction of seven transmission lines totaling approximately 738 kilometers in the states of Minas Gerais, Paraná, and Santa Catarina.
This second transmission auction, organized by ANEEL on September 27, tendered the construction of 850 km of transmission lines and substations in seven states: Bahia, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Paraná, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul.
The Graúna Project, corresponding to lot 1, includes the construction of 737,69 km of transmission lines with voltages of 525 kV and 345 kV, aiming to ensure energy supply in these regions. Cobra Brasil will be responsible for the engineering, supply, and construction of a 58.41 km 345 kV transmission line in Minas Gerais and São Paulo, and six transmission lines totaling 679.28 km of 525 kV in Santa Catarina and Paraná, which will increase the transformation capacity by 1,000 MVA.
With this new contract, Cobra Brasil adds a new project to the three already underway: Lots 3 (auction 2022) and 7 and 1 (auction 2023) of ANEEL, covering more than 2,400 km of high-voltage lines in several brazilian states.
The Graúna Project is expected to generate more than 2,200 jobs.
